In this Winter Penguin Art Lesson, students create a penguin using construction paper, oil pastel marks and watercolor paint. It is a ready-made, no-prep mixed media art project tutorial for Grades 1 to 4.
The lesson includes a hook, assessment, rubric, reflections and a winter-themed reading for background knowledge, so students build creative thinking skills while learning about winter. Finish with the display sign and artist statement templates for a quick hallway display.
