In this Winter Pine Cone Painting lesson, students create a snowy painting of an evergreen tree with delicate snow-covered pine cones. Using acrylic or tempera paint, they explore painting and layering techniques while celebrating the winter season.

This mixed media winter project is written for elementary and middle school classrooms and also works for homeschool art, bulletin board displays and sub plans. Step-by-step visuals, a lesson plan, a rubric and a student drawing handout guide you through it.
