Questions teachers and parents ask

What is directed drawing?

In a directed drawing, an adult models each step and kids follow along. Students then add their own details and color, so every drawing ends up different.

How do I help a child who says they can't draw?

Break the drawing into simple shapes and lines, praise effort over results, and remind them that mistakes can turn into something new. A sketchbook with no grades helps too.

Why use sketchbooks with kids?

A sketchbook gives students a safe place to practise, try ideas and see their own progress over time.

What is grid drawing?

Grid drawing breaks a picture into small squares. Students copy one square at a time, which trains them to look closely at shapes and proportion.
