These 10 Elements of Art Line lessons make up a full line art unit with instructional lessons, visual handouts, drawing worksheets and art projects that explore line as an element of art. Students learn about types of lines, expressive line, contour drawing and optical illusions, with an artist focus on Jackson Pollock.
It is designed for grades 3 to 6 and made for elementary classroom teachers, homeschool educators, art specialists and substitute teachers. Use it as a complete unit, as standalone projects, or as part of a year-long visual arts curriculum.

HOW TO USE IT
Print the lesson plans and handouts and gather materials from the included supply suggestions. Begin each class with the informational handouts or the artist spotlight, follow up with hands-on drawing or creative work (with optional demonstrations for visual learners), and finish with student reflections and rubrics for assessment.
