In this Autumn Guinea Pig Art Project, students create a sweet, round guinea pig surrounded by large autumn leaves and grassy fall textures. It is designed for grades 1 to 4 and makes a cheerful, seasonal bulletin board display.

Students experiment with oil pastel, paint (watercolor or tempera) and layered paper elements to build a mixed media artwork. Along the way they explore contrast, value, texture, shape, layering and focal point in a way that feels approachable for younger artists.
