Collage Art Projects for Kids
Collage is so freeing for kids, especially the ones who say they can’t draw. Cutting, tearing, layering and gluing lets everyone make something bold and beautiful. These collage and paper art projects work for every season.

Questions teachers and parents ask me
What is collage?
Collage is artwork made by gluing pieces of paper, fabric or other materials onto a surface to build a picture or design.
Why is collage good for kids?
It builds scissor skills and shape awareness, and it’s a great confidence booster for kids who find drawing hard.
What supplies do I need?
Construction paper, scissors and glue sticks. Magazine pages, tissue paper and painted papers make it even more fun.
How do I keep collage from getting messy?
Use glue sticks for young kids, keep scraps in one bin per table, and save a few minutes at the end for cleanup.
