This Valentine’s Day Panda Art Project is a print-and-teach elementary art lesson that combines art, literacy, reflection and assessment in one resource. Students follow a guided panda drawing tutorial, explore marker and paint techniques, and then extend their learning with reading comprehension, writing activities, critical thinking questions and art reflections.
The panda theme supports conversations about friendship, kindness and caring for others, so Valentine’s week centers on kindness rather than couples or treats. It is made for classroom teachers, art teachers, homeschool families and substitute teachers, and works best for grades 1 to 4.

HOW TO USE IT
This is a multi-day Valentine’s lesson. Use it as a Valentine’s Day art lesson, for February art and literacy integration, as an inclusive friendship-focused Valentine activity, for sub plans during holiday weeks, as a homeschool Valentine’s unit, or for a hallway or bulletin board display.
Clear visual modeling and predictable routines help students work with confidence, and the reading, writing and reflection pages connect the art to the rest of their learning.
