This End of the Year Finish the Picture resource is a low-prep, print and go set of creative drawing challenges for classroom teachers, art teachers, substitute teachers and homeschool families. Each page gives students a partial drawing to complete with their own ideas, then finish with color or shading.
The pages are open-ended, so no two finished pieces look the same. Students practice imagination, creative thinking, visual problem solving and drawing confidence, while you get a structured activity they can start independently during the busy final weeks of school.
WHAT'S INCLUDED (NON-EDITABLE PDF)
- 1 Cover Page
- 1 Teacher Overview Page explaining the purpose of the activity, with ideas for classroom use
- 1 Lesson Plan Page with learning outcomes, lesson overview, materials, competencies, big ideas and discussion questions
- 1 Art Rubric Page for creativity, process, effort and project execution
- 10 Finish the Picture Drawing Pages, end of the year themed, each with a student name line and directions to continue the drawing, fill the page and color or shade it
HOW TO USE IT
Use the pages for end of the year art, morning work, bell ringers, brain breaks, art centers, sub plans, creative drawing warm-ups or early finishers. Homeschool families can use them as a simple art prompt that has children complete a full drawing from a starting point.
Because the pages are open-ended, they work across a range of ages and abilities. They also give you a chance to observe student thinking, independence, originality and effort, with the rubric for assessment support.
