★★★★★I needed a quick resource for a few students that went remote in the middle of a unit. This was perfect! I have used this again and again when I have a student go remote. I can quickly assign these drawing prompts without having to record anything or take pictures of projects from in class. This has been very useful!

★★★★★I used this resource for at home learning. I allowed them to choose which of the assignments they wanted to complete. I was very happy with their creativity and enthusiasm for completing these activities.

★★★★★So easy to use! Perfect for at home learning - the clear steps made all students successful in their art. Some copied the sample, some used the idea to create their own.

This 10-project middle school art pack gives students creative, no-prep art lessons they can work through on their own. The projects are open-ended and students can use any materials available: if it can make a mark, it can be used.
It is made for homeschool families, middle school teachers and independent learners, and fits homeschooling, bell ringers, fast finishers, enrichment or independent exploration. Each lesson has simple step-by-step instructions, a visual guide for independent learning and a printable workspace for students to create on.
WHAT'S INCLUDED (NON-EDITABLE, AMERICAN ENGLISH)
- Passion Still Life: draw an object that represents something you are passionate about in a still life composition
- Proportion Challenge: draw a small creature so large it looks squeezed inside the paper's frame
- Shoe Still Life: an observational drawing of a detailed, shaded shoe
- Emphasis and Identity: use emphasis to highlight something important about your identity
- Exploring Contrast: use contrast (light vs. dark, bold vs. soft) with a subject of your choice
- Hand Still Life and Imagination: draw your hand and add something imaginative on or around it
- Pop Culture Mash-up: combine two favorite pop culture icons into a new artwork
- View of a Room: a still life view of a room at home or school using shading and perspective
- Attack of the ____!: inspired by old-school sci-fi movies, draw an everyday object as a giant invader
- Gratitude Art: illustrate things you are grateful for growing on a "gratitude tree"
Each lesson includes a printable template and step-by-step guide.
HOW TO USE IT
Use the projects for homeschool art and skill-building, bell ringers and fast finishers, self-directed learning, enrichment challenges or art exploration centers in the classroom or at home. No special supplies are required.
To prep, print and laminate master copies and keep them in a binder, or place them in folders or student binders for self-guided work. Homeschool families can use them to document art skill development in a portfolio, and students can complete the activities in a sketchbook as an art journal.
