This is an excellent resource. Takes the headache out of reinventing the wheel. It gives a closer look at how perspective can be taught, and can be used on the whiteboard if you don't want to photocopy the sheets. Thank you. I'm a fan.

Where have you been all of my life? This is incredible. For someone who can't draw anything well - teaching art is scary. The steps are easy to follow and I think the kids will love the lessons.

I used this resource for my middle school students and they were engaged by the challenge of perspective. This resource guided them step by step through drawing perspective. Excellent!

This Perspective Drawing Art Resource is a low-prep drawing unit for Grades 4 to 8. It teaches one-point perspective, two-point perspective and room interior drawing step by step, so students learn how to create 3D illusions on a 2D surface with no prior experience needed.

Students also learn about the history of perspective drawing and build up to a final creative project with brainstorming, inquiry, peer feedback and reflection. It suits middle school art programs, upper elementary enrichment and homeschool art.

WHAT'S INCLUDED (NON-EDITABLE)

  • PowerPoint Presentation: a 20-slide visual guide covering perspective history and two-point perspective step-by-step drawing
  • Lesson Plan (2 pages): learning goals, outcomes, materials and a "Teacher Does / Student Does" format
  • Rubric for the final project
  • Student Workbook Pages: Title Page, What I Know About Perspective Drawing, What is Perspective Drawing?, History of Perspective Drawing, One-Point Cube Perspective (step by step), One-Point Perspective (step by step), Two-Point Perspective (step by step), One-Point Room Interior Drawing (step by step), Inquiry: Perspective Drawing, Art Project Research Page, Brainstorm Page for Final Project, Reference Image Collage Page, Rough Draft Page, Perspective Reflection Page, Peer Feedback Sheet and Student/Teacher Evaluation Form

HOW TO USE IT

Print the workbook as a complete art booklet or use it page by page, depending on your classroom setup. The lesson plan, rubric and illustrated PowerPoint make it easy to plan, teach and assess the unit.

It fits a perspective drawing unit, middle school drawing lessons, homeschool visual arts, substitute teacher art lessons, art on a cart programs, cross-curricular art and math lessons, and student-led final art projects.

FAQ

Yes. It is a printable resource and is not digital. Print it as a full student workbook or as individual worksheets.

How can I use it for displays or events?
