This was super helpful during a stressful season. The three week between Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks are a whirlwind of finishing projects and trying to keep things simple. This is perfect for early finishers nad last minute sub plans.

This Winter ARTivity Book is a 39-page visual art workbook that teaches the Elements of Art and Principles of Design through winter drawing activities: snowmen, penguins, winter landscapes, symmetry, mandalas, roll and draw games and creative prompt building.

It is made for elementary art teachers (K to 5), classroom teachers, homeschool families and substitute teachers who want a print-and-go January art unit with structured art vocabulary. Students learn color, line, value, space and texture, movement, repetition and emphasis, symmetry and radial symmetry, complementary colors, cool color schemes, monochromatic value, Zen Doodle line patterns, composition and grid drawing.

HOW TO USE IT

Print it as a full January art workbook, use single pages for weekly art lessons, glue pages into sketchbooks, or use them for sub plans, early finishers, art centers and homeschool art. It works well in mixed-grade classrooms and can be differentiated by medium and depth of instruction.

Use any medium you have: wax crayons, colored pencils, felt markers, watercolor, tempera paint, soft pastels or oil pastels.
