This Veterans Day Art Lesson invites students to reflect on the importance of Veterans Day and express gratitude and respect for those who have served. Using a directed drawing, students illustrate a Veterans Day flag and figure, then bring their artwork to life with felt marker painting.
Students explore art techniques while learning about service and sacrifice, so the lesson ties together art, history and character education. The finished pieces can be displayed in the classroom or taken home as a tribute. It is a low-prep lesson for teachers and homeschoolers.
