★★★★★

I wanted to introduce Saint Patrick's Day in a fun and engaging way, and this resource allowed me to do so. What I enjoyed most about this resource was that it could be used for a class or small group that could benefit from visual instructions and art practice. This resource allowed me to differentiate instruction for different learners based on their current skill level. The art activity is engaging because of the different ways the activity can be used to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. My students challenged themselves to do the grid by grid. I could easily see using this as a whole class warm-up for a week or two before Saint Patrick's Day. Thank you for creating this fun resource to engage students.

This St Patricks Day Cartoon Grid Drawing resource gives students in grades 1 to 4 a simple, structured way to build drawing confidence. Students copy a cartoon image one square at a time from the example grid into the blank grid beside it, which helps them focus, slow down and feel successful as they draw.

The cartoon style images are drawn by Kathleen McGiveron (Ms Artastic), so they are playful, original and kid friendly. It is made for art teachers, classroom teachers, substitute teachers and homeschool families who want fun St Patricks Day drawing practice for younger students.

HOW TO USE IT

Use the pages for St Patricks Day art lessons, early finishers, art centers, sub plans, morning work, homeschool art and fine motor practice. They work as a quiet independent activity, a guided art lesson, or a booklet students work through over time.

Grid drawing reduces overwhelm. Focusing on one small section at a time helps children notice lines, shapes and spacing, which can make a real difference for students who say they "can’t draw" or feel nervous starting an artwork.
