I love this step by step art. It is great for whether I want to work it through all the way with them or just let them get started and finish more independent. Thank you for sharing!

My students loved this art activity! We love doing guided drawing lessons! The students were so impressed by "painting with water". This was a great activity coupled with new year's resolution discussions, writing goals and focusing on positive mind set.

This New Year's Firework and Wishes Art Project asks students to reflect on their hopes and dreams for the coming year, for themselves, their family, their community or the world. Using pencil crayons and felt markers, they create a bright New Year's artwork filled with colorful fireworks and personal wishes.

It is for classroom teachers and homeschoolers, and it supports self-reflection, goal setting and visual storytelling while students experiment with line, color and composition. The finished pieces also make a bulletin board display of students' goals for the new year.

I found this resource as a great way to ease back in to art after the holiday break. My students struggled with trying to come up with resolutions, but that is just my students.

I'm not a particularly gifted "art" teacher, but I was able to pull this off with kids. Kids enjoyed it, the quality of the final products varied, as might be expected.
