These 40 Christmas drawing task cards work as art activities or sketchbook prompts to keep students festive and busy before winter break. The tasks include illustrating narratives, creativity challenges, creatively designing a world, re-imagining, using the senses, using values and lines, and designing items such as wrapping paper and posters.
Each card has just one task, so students do not feel overwhelmed. They can do one card or work through them all, and you can reuse the cards again and again.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
- 40 Christmas Drawing Task Cards, hand drawn and in gray scale to save on color printing
HOW TO USE IT
Laminate the cards for long-lasting use, put them in a bin, jar, basket or baggie for students to choose from, or hole-punch a corner and put them on a ring to do one at a time as a class. You can also photocopy them so they are ready to go.
Use one prompt for the whole class or different cards for individuals, as assignments, in centers, for group work (give each group a card and share the work later) or for fast finishers. Giving students a choice lets them work on what they are passionate about.

In the busy days before winter break, in centers, as sketchbook prompts or as early finisher work.
