★★★★★Great resource for the beginning of the year, especially when teachers are trying to talk to parent before the commencement of the day. Kids love these and having them on the desks so they can come in and grab something fun to do helped calm my new class. Thanks for the great resource.

★★★★★Great coloring pages for kids to work on while you, the teacher, complete all the busy work of the first week of school. After students completed a page, I used it as classroom decoration so they could feel a part of ownership of our classroom.

★★★★★I can't tell you how happy I was to find these!! I teach chemistry and 11th graders love to color as much as 2nd graders. I hang them around the room and it make my room so colorful... Thanks!

Rated by 229 teachers on TPT (see every rating on TPT). These are selected 4- and 5-star written reviews by teachers on TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers), shown word for word. TPT's newer 4-point scale ("Extremely satisfied" = 4) is converted to stars.
These Back to School Zen Doodle Coloring Pages are detailed, mindful coloring sheets that keep students calm, focused and creatively busy during the first week of school. Every design is hand-drawn and original to Ms Artastic, not a clip art compilation.
They suit elementary and upper elementary classrooms, middle school art, homeschool families and art teachers. The pages give students a quiet, structured activity while you set up routines and build classroom community, and several pages carry growth mindset themes.
WHAT'S INCLUDED (10 DETAILED COLORING PAGES)
- Back to School Lettering Page with large stylized typography, school doodles and student portraits along the bottom
- Welcome Back Owls Page with two symmetrical owls, patterned backgrounds and a welcome banner
- School Supplies Pattern Page with crayons, glue, pencils and an eraser in a mirrored layout
- Back to School Notebook Page with a labeled notebook, glue stick, pencil, eraser and swirling textures
- Apple Back to School Page with a large apple centerpiece and patterned sections
- Welcome Back to School Banner Page with bold lettering over wave and pattern textures
- Back to School Selfie Frame titled This is Me!, for student photos and display
- Get Lost in a Good Book This Year Page with an open book and swirling patterns
- Grow Your Mind Page with a detailed brain, leaves and flowing typography
- LEARN Typography Page with block letters filled with zen doodle patterns
HOW TO USE IT
Print and photocopy the pages for independent work during the first week, keep copies ready for early finishers, use them in art centers, indoor recess or a calm-down corner, or add them to art journals and sketchbooks. Finished pages make bulletin board décor, and the selfie frame works well for a beginning-of-year display.
The pages are intentionally detailed to encourage slow coloring and attention to detail. Students can use pencil crayons, crayons, markers, watercolor, chalk pastel, oil pastel or mixed media.
