The third graders did wonderful with it and could do it independently. My kindergarteners struggled and felt it was difficult.

In this Thanksgiving Turkey Art Lesson, students create a cute turkey using oil pastel marks and watercolor paint. It is a ready-made mixed media art project tutorial for Kindergarten to grade 3.

A poem lesson hook and a Thanksgiving-themed reading build background knowledge, and the assessment, rubric and reflection pages round out the lesson. Students develop creative thinking skills while learning about Thanksgiving.
