Name Art Projects for Kids
Name art is my go-to for the first weeks of school. Every student starts with something they already know and love, their own name, and turns it into bold letters, patterns and color. You learn names fast, and you get a hallway display that says "we belong here." Here are my name art lessons, plus free ideas from the blog.

Questions teachers and parents ask
Why are name art projects good for the start of the year?
Every student can start right away with something personal. It helps you learn names, builds community and makes a great first display.
What grades can do name art?
All of them. Younger kids work with big bubble letters and simple patterns; older students can try graffiti lettering, shading and detailed line work.
How long does a name art project take?
Most take one to three art classes, depending on how much detail and color students add.
What supplies do I need?
Paper, pencils, erasers and black fine-tip markers, plus markers, colored pencils or crayons for color.
