Autumn Harvest Art Project for your Classroom with Printable Art Lesson Plans
I love Autumn, Fall, and all things Harvest so in this blog post, I will provide you with a simple yet effective art lesson to get your Elementary students exploring art making mediums with simple strategies to create an Autumn or Fall art project featuring a cute Harvest Fruit and Veggies Artwork for Kids. Materials and Hook for the Art Lesson
Time for an autumn art lesson for kids! For this art lesson, you will need two art mediums and two pieces of paper. First, you need Oil pastels, a black wax crayon or permanent marker, and Watercolor paints OR Tempera Paint Cakes. As well, you will need a choice colored piece of paper.
Begin the lesson with hooking your students on the lesson. You can click here and follow the full video art lesson and create an example to show your students or you can start off with a classroom discussion and ask them a question: “What food is harvested in Fall or Autumn?” or “What local fruit and vegetables are ready for harvest by farmers or in your backyard during Fall or Autumn?” Record all their answers on chart paper or on the board.
Next, you can explain you will be creating an artwork of Harvest Fruits and Vegetables.!
Step 1: Draw the start of the Apple

Start the artwork by drawing the start of the apple. Draw your apple to the left side of the paper and give it a mouth. Model drawing it large or show them the full video art lesson that you can watch by clicking here.
Step 2: Create the Corn

On the write side of the paper, draw your corn. Give both the corn and the apple a face.
Step 3: Add a Pumpkin and Choice Autumn Details

Next, draw a pumpkin hiding out behind both corn and apple to create overlapping and a sense of depth in the artwork. Add other fall or autumn elements. Trace over all your lines with oil pastels.
Step 4: Paint the Harvest Food and Background

Finally, paint your fruit and vegetables using watercolor or tempera paint cakes.
Paint line elements in the background to create visual interest.
Once dry, cut out the wax crayon and glue it to the background paper.
