Begin your art piece by painting card stock, water color, or thick paper with cool color paints (watercolor or tempera paint cakes). Paint with blue, purple, or green to create a cool color background.
Let it dry.

While your background dries, you will draw your mountains.
On plain, white paper, draw mountains with zigzag lines across the middle of your paper with black felt marker.
Draw curved lines below it to draw a snowy horizon line.

On the mountains, draw zigzag lines down from the peaks to create the texture in the mountains.
Draw hatching lines across the mountains from the texture line down the middle, toward the right side of the mountain. This will create shading on the mountains.
Cut the top half of the paper off along the mountains (leave the bottom!)

Draw your evergreen trees on Green Construction paper.

Add texture and snow to your trees with oil pastels. Cut them out.

Cut out your trees!

Glue the mountains onto the background. Shade your mountains with blue oil pastel. Smooth it with your fingers.

Glue your trees onto your background.

Add shading beneath your trees with black marker. Add snow with white dots of tempera or acrylic paint among the art piece.
